Galaxy SHey there, so for a while i have noticed the default samsung photo editor app is taking up 10GB of storage. After a lot of troubleshooting with samsung support, i was told that my last resort would be disabling the app altogether. Can someone guide me with some info such as whats the name of the package for the photo editor app?

Galaxy Syeah well im considering factory resetting, but at the same time i did mention that i have reinstalled the whole software using odin and it did nothing, i still have the problem. maybe with the new update there will be some compatibility changes or data rewritting and it would solve my issue.
until then i am doing what i can to clear needed space, just by going individually in every app and deleting cache i cleared about 8gb, i should be fine for a while i guess

Galaxy STough luck, it changed from 10.49GB to 10.68GB. At some point today it was 10.69GB, and i really didnt do anything regarding photo editing or storage management, but now its on 10.68. It surelly is doing something in the background.

Galaxy SI thought that you disabled / froze it?
If you did & it's still acting weird, then I'd definitely Factory Reset if it was my phone.

Galaxy SYeah i did disable it but if disabling it doesnt do anything in regards with the storage, i might aswell just use the app normally. And again, i really dont think factory reset would really do something as i have reinstalled the phone's software with odin, and a fresh rom.

Galaxy SInstalling the Firmware with Odin DOESN'T wipe anything unless you change the CSC. If you Factory Reset BEFORE Flashing with Odin then it's pretty much the same as just doing a Factory Reset.
It's up to you. I've already posted the memory that Samsung's Photo Editor app is using on my S20 Ultra, but I'll post it again. Something like 62 Meg vs the massive & apparently changing storage on your phone.

Galaxy SThis started happening when the "Revert" (undo/revert to original) function was added to the photo editor.
The Samsung gallery's app data balloons to unimaginable sizes when you edit a bunch of photos using the "SAVE" button.
If you use the "save copy" function instead, this does not happen!
The app must be saving the non-edited version of the image and/or the edited one to be able to perform the "REVERT"/undo function. Whether the data is being saved to internal stoeage or the SD card (maybe depending on if you have the photos in the internal memory or SD card) is unclear.
Perhaps try to remove your SD card and see if the app data remains the same.
Whether the data is saved on internal storage or the SD card, Samsung really needs to fix this to make it crystal clear to the user, because it appears to be nuking internal storage!
Come on you multi-billion dollar company from the country who beats STEM at super high, crushing mental pressure into your student population driving them to insanity! You should be smart enough to figure this out and come up with a solution!

Galaxy SI m using s22u. Tried to smaller video size saying from 60k fhd 2gb to 30k hd 1gb. The video sized changed smaller which is good. But in the mean time the system size growed 2gb. I tested a few times and make sure it's because Samsung didn't delete the original video But just generate a new small size video. The original video must be somewhere for revert purpose. But where??? I don't need it and want to delete it to save my space.
