I just purchased S21 ultra. (Ive been a blackberry user but cannot get them anymore). Decided to stick with android since my Key2 bb was android. I was loving this phone. But then The fingerprint sensor stopped working after just 2 days. Tried all the suggested fixes and even did a factory reset. My carrier offers a full refund if I return the S21 within 15 days. If it comes to that I will be going to iphone. Really frustrating.

Open the Samsung Members app Click on "Get Help" run the Diagnostics for the Finger Print Scanner & see if you get any error messages?

Are you using a 3rd party screen protector?

If it's something other than Whitestone Dome tempered glass, then that could be the issue.

No screen protector is being used. Diagnostic instructs to open fingerprint. But it won't open. An error message saying 'Fingerprint sensor not working, if this continues to happen restart your phone. '

In that case, try going to Settings > Apps > Biometrics & Security > Storage & Clear BOTH Cache & Data for Biometrics & Security > Reboot.

See if you can access Finger Prints then to test with Diagnostics.

If you still can't access the Finger Print unlock, then I'd suggest that you visit a Samsung Service center to get the device checked out by a tech, it could be a hardware issue.

Thanks for the reply. I did all those steps suggested as I found them when searching for a solution. My provider offers a 15 day return policy. Looks like I'm making the move to iPhone.
