A few days ago on my S10, my volume buttons stopped changing the volume when holding them down. I can only change the volume in increments one press at a time. The only thing that seems to temporarily fix it is restarting the phone. But then the issue comes back after a bit.

Hi Samsung Members, Samsung is aware that a limited number of Galaxy users may experience the symptom that volume isn't adjusted properly when they press and hold the Volume key. This phenomenon can appear on devices that the Google App of the specific version is installed.
To resolve this phenomenon basically, it's required for you to install the improved Google App.
For this, Google will release an enhanced Google App and Samsung is also working closely with Google to make the application update at the earliest possible to prevent any inconvenience that users might experience.
For normal operation of Volume key before the official update, you can take temporary action on device.
With your earphones plugged into your device, from Google App, tap More > Settings > Google Assistant > Devices(Devices that are linked to your Assistant), and then select the Wired headphones icon. Then deactivate the "Get help from Google" feature.

I have the same problem with my S10e since the beginning of December. I restarted the phone as you recommended it and it worked. I hope it will stay that way. Thanks!

This is a huuuge issue. Get on the ball, Samsung.

I used a Bluetooth headset today with its own volume buttons which might be a cause. But it's not connected now and the issue still persists.

Hi BixBye, Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Did you try the resolution provided by me? If not, I suggest you please try deactivating the "Get help from Google" feature as mentioned above and check if the issue got resolved.

I had this issue on my s10e and how I fixed it was by going to Google Assistant setting, then going to devices, then went into the wired headphones option and disabled that. If you also see wired headphones as a device i suggest giving this a try.

Hi....I am having the same problem with my my volume key.  When I press it I noticed I have a new looking icon to adjust my sound level.  The icon is vertical on the screen not horizontal like it used to be.  I just inured it was yet one more update that Samsung had done.  But, the level doesn't allow me to change it on the the screen.  I push the volume key on my phone, and the icon pops up on mt screen but I can only shut the volume off when I tap the icon.  I cannot adjust the level of the volume.  I have a S10.
