Hey everyone I ran into a small glitch that hopefully Samsung can fix in a future update. The other day I had my power saving mode to medium. One thing I noticed....everytime I opened my "phone" app either on the dial pad screen or the recents screen, I would see a quick pop up error message saying "Unable to change location, please check network connection and try again"
this was really starting to annoy me because I had a solid wifi connection I even tried with wifi off using my data. my location was set to high accuracy. I couldn't figure it out. when I open the phone app and tap on places I see it wouldn't find my location. it just keeps saying searching. I then disabled power saving mode. As soon as I turned off power saving mode off, that message went away. I don't think power saving mode has anything to do with location. I am unsure if this just a slight glitch or if there is reasoning behind it. If anyone else can please try this and let me know if they come across the same issue. enable power saving mode and then open phone -> places and see if you get that pop up.

thanks everyone!!1c97e449-c1f2-4b6c-9c69-1f6fe30201a2.jpg

This was a hot topic back when I was in US firmware for Bixby's voice. Sometimes resetting network settings fixes this issue and sometimes it doesn't. It's surely a bug that hopefully is patched in next oreo update.

@SnowCat19, i just tried it this morning and I didn't get any popup, I went on the Places screen and it showed my location and showed results.

@Snowcat19, I tried it just now and didn't get any popup, I went to the Places screen and just like @Cprice, it showed my location and results without a popup.

Hey @Cprice and @MCKAIG,
thank you so much for trying this. I just tried it now and it seems to be working just fine...
Must be one of those hit or miss areas, where this issue happens only sometimes.

thanks again :)

Hey SnowCat19, thanks for reporting that! Even though this doesn't happen every time, it's still a bug because it happened at least once. I'll forward this to the team so we can get it patched up. Thanks again!

@Nick, thank you so much for addressing this issue.
So far when I have switched my phone on Medium power saving mode, it has not happened yet so that is good!

thanks again :)

I'm still having this issue, doesn't matter what device it is apparently. I've had this issue from my S10 all the way up to my S21. Honestly I'm at the point I've had enough of Samsung. I love the devices but I'm sick of the intrusion in my personal data. I can almost guarantee that this issue has something to do with not being able to upload personal which in turn won't let you use those certain features. The fact I had to sign into Samsung just to make this comment pissed me right off. I'm ready to go back to a flip phone and normal GPS just to rid the irritation of never having privacy with a smartphone. For some people this takes a massive toll, especially when they're struggling financially, all these companies want is more and more money from us, there's no reasons for all these problems if data collection wasn't involved, I've had enough.
