home and recent gestures stop working intermitently

The home and recent gestures stop working intermittently. The back gesture still works so I can use that to back out until they start working again after a minute. It is only an intermittent issue.  They work fine most of the time. Any ideas on a fix or cause?

Anyone else having this behaviour?

Update:. The January 2020 security update fixed the issue for me.

Restart and make sure you have storage space left.

S10 Samsung phones with android 10 is one pile of junk .

you are using the gestures and NOT the navigation bar correct?

make sure you didnt enable the 2and option(slide from side)... I tried this and was getting some inconsistent behaviors... if enabled, try selection top option instead

I am using the second option since I want the android gestures..not Samsung ones...it's a minor issue for now..will try a factory reset eventually since exhausted other avenue

the second option is what I notice causing inconsistencies... so I reverted back to first without issue
