Hi Guys,
I am using galaxy S24.
Since I my images and video files consuming large amount of space, I move two video files to external storage. But after moving those files, All related images also disappeared form internal storage. I checked on Trash bin, unfortunately nothing on there. Do you guys have similar experiences?

No I don't think that was the issue. How it was formatted, could be the issue. If you try to send anything to an OTG that wasn't formatted in a compatible way, would result in nothing getting transferred.

Before you sent the videos etc, were you able to view the sd card in the phone's file explorer? I mean I think that most are compatible out of the box.. so to speak.

I don't remember if I had to format my OTG storage device before I used it, but I think that I might have?

@RedDogRabbit yup. I can see the folder structure of external storage. I selected a target folder from root directory of external storage. so I 100% sure I could see folder.

Hi JerryJelly, that's strange!  We are sorry to hear your issue. Have you checked if the images were there where you have moved the videos?

Yes, @helenna is a Samsung Members Canada Moderator.

Don't expect a useful answer from Samsung's Moderators.

Their knowledge is quite limited.

aha....then I posted wrong. I supposed Samsung's engineers also join in here. within peer group communication also often helpful like you @RedDogRabbit. many thanks to you. but I disappointed with Samsung.

I checked many times. the original location was under DCIM. but many images which were taken same day with those video files were gone. other files which were taken before or after the day didn't affect. those video file size were over 5GB. I am wondering when moving a big file from internal to external, there might be an issue on managing file system.

Hmm.
Can you launch Samsung Gallery app and set to view all (top right corner) when Albums tan at bottom is selected. Using this can you see you pictures?

Also are you synced to OneDrive?! If so, launch one drive if signed in or via the browser and look into Receycle Bin!

Anything there that could be familiar Restore!

Let us know if this helps?

@Day_Walker One drive is a good option. but that has space limitation. I know I can use extra space for 6 months since I bought S24 recently. but that is not an ultimate solution. I believe One drive is a just supportive solution. If I can't get a solution, though its AI feature is a quite attractive, sadly I will consider refund my S24.
