Is it normal for my S24 Ultra to get warm - a little bit hot?

Yes, i have been noticing this lately as well. Maybe samsung will fix this issue in jan patch, or maybe they doing it on purposely for us to buy s25.

Depending on what you are doing with any mobile device, it is perfectly normal to notice a fluctuation in the device's temperature. 

The notion that Samsung, would deliberately do something detrimental to the device is preposterous.

Right? Why do I have these thoughts every time a new device launches? My S23U is working great and honeslty I don't want to get disappointed by a new more expensive device that isn't really any better than what I already have. In fact some of these have less options. Apperantly the S25 S pen no longer has blue tooth so that's a big downgrade.

You can use this official Samsung app called Thermal Guardian in the Good Guardians app to track your phone's temperature and see if it fluctuates too much. It's not avaliable in the Canada Galaxy Store, but you can download it from APKMiiror. 😊
