I have something somewhere that keeps activating my location every two minutes but I can't find it properly, it's a pest, i have to turn off my location to keep it from doing that, when i search it say it's the Google message app but i hadn't used it in a few hours, yet location is always showing up on the top of the screen & i can't find the app requesting it, what app will show me what app is asking for location each time?.

I checked, it keeps saying it's messages, that's what's odd, yiu use it 18 hour's ago only for it to ask for your location way after you stopped using it. Makes no sense what so ever.
How can a app you used 18 hour's prior to the location request ask for your location.
It wasn't the weather app. Their all set that they use the location when you use the app's in question

My suspicion is that Messages requests location periodically, for things such as, location based sharing with Contacts, and Security to detect unusual activity?

It's also possible that it might be a bug?

Are you using Google Messages or Samsung's?

My suspicion remains the same, but you could try using Samsung's Messages, and see if you get the same thing?

As i stated a few moments ago, currently it hasn't requested position for anything not even weather. And location is currently on.

I have always used Google Messages myself, and I don't think that it's ever requested Location on my S25 Ultra?

The apps that have requested Location, are for the most part legitimate requests.. Don't know why Fibe TV would need my location though?

I know it's as if things are starting to go nut's, i stbled on a web article that speaks of Gmail & other app's & platforms that have had their user credentials & passwords stolen, obviously huge lack in security. The digital age is a huge security risk. I am wondering where are we going with all of this. Always having to change passwords to avoid theft because large companies like google can't even ensure proper security, they claim they have sofisticated security systems, this proves what I have been saying for years, nothing is ever that safe. It's as if large companies are getting lazy with security

Hi pirattemobille,

Thank you for sharing your concern regarding frequent location access on your device. We understand how disruptive it can be when location services are activated unexpectedly and without clear indication of the responsible app.

To identify which app is repeatedly accessing your location, you can use Android’s built-in permission manager.

To help you pinpoint which application is requesting location access every few minutes, we recommend the following steps:

Use Android’s Permission Manager

  1. Go to Settings > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Permission Manager.

  2. Tap Location to view a list of apps with location access.

  3. Check which apps have “Allowed all the time” or “Allowed only while in use” permissions.

  4. You can modify permissions for any app that seems suspicious or unnecessary.

  5. Check Recent Location Access

Some Samsung devices allow you to view recent location usage:

  • Navigate to Settings > Location > App Permissions.

  • Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) and select “Recent location requests”.

  • This will show apps that accessed your location recently, even if they weren’t actively used.

Use Developer Options (Advanced)

If enabled:

  • Go to Settings > Developer Options > App Process Stats or Running Services.

  • This can help identify background apps that may be triggering location services.
