did you switch from iphone. if you did make sure you turn off imessage from cloud settings.

as mentioned above imessage is the default messenger on Apple devices and if you switch to andorid you will have to disable imessage as your default messenger

I have never owned an iphone so I am not familiar with imessage like everyone is stating above lol
