PNG file not supported SMS/MMS Text Messages

Hi,

New to Samsung and the Android world. I'm getting this message when receiving SMS/MMS from friends:

The image file IMG_1153.png is not supported and was deleted.

If it matters the SMS/MMS is from an iPhone user.

Any help is appreciated.

I think Only .jpg files or anything similar can be sent through and recieved by text. This is has nothing to do with it being a iPhone. it just your carrier.

very true, also 99% of phones take pictures in ,jpg so unsure why this was being sent as a .png...
Have you tried via whatsapp or facebook?

Do you know if your friends are taking pictures and then sending them right away, which would mean there camera is taking.png images instead of .jpg...
