I still use Google.  What's the difference and why should I use Bixby?

Hi @Georgeana,

Below are a few things about Bixby.

Bixby learns what you like to do and works with your favorite apps and services to help you get more done. Bixby learns your routine, so you’ll have the right content ready when you need it.
By looking for patterns in your app usage by time and location, Bixby can predict what you might be looking for.

Built into your smartphone, Bixby Vision makes it easier to learn more about the world around you.
Tap the Vision icon in the camera or gallery app to search, shop, and translate at the touch of a finger.

Bixby Vision will bring you the information you need, from the name of a famous landmark you’re visiting to image search results, and more.

I've done a number of tests over the years and really the only thing beneficial about bixby is being able to actually do stuff to your device.like turning things on and off but for everything else it's subpar.

I MIGHT use Bixby.... IF Google Assistant didn't exist... might.

Hi Georgeana, I use both, Bixby and Google assistant. Bixby works well on control device itself. Google assistant works good on searchinh internet or find locations.

Example, when driving and after use of voice command and your screen is on. Want to save some batteries and not to wait for 1 to 2 minutes to turn off. You can ask Bixby turn the screen off. But if you ask Google assistant to do this, it will search the web instead.

really Bixby is an assistant really that is good as a voice interface for your device, you can turn things on and off and take you to a settings menu perhaps. and it is very deeply integrated into Samsung devices. also Bixby routines can be useful if you take the time to set them up but for me personally I don't really find them that useful for my usage. but for everything else that most people use in the system for I find Bixby is subpar but for information based questions it's better to use the Google assistant.

Yeah. I gathered Bixby is more device orientated assistant. Google is more web orientated assistant. However Bixby did catch a music search that stumped Google. That was a surprise.

Should be noted though that it was an obscure 80s cantonese song my mom was trying to find. Google failed multiple times. Bixby nailed it 100%. I had my doubts, but my mom confirmed Bixby was right.

So if one fails, try the other is the bottom line I guess. 😆

I always asked Bixby for new songs name from radio 😉 It does regonise cantonese songs pretty good, that I am surprised too. 😅
