Assuming your S6 is on Android 4.3 or older, you need to root your device, install TWRP and flash a custom rom without Knox to completely remove the Knox from the device.

Lol RichMan. The S6 never runned Android 4.3 or older. Came with 5.0.2

this is why I am confused? Lol
I didn't upgrade it to a 7.0? unless that's what would have happened with a routine software update?
as you can tell I'm not very good with phones and technology haha

Oh, I didn't know that @CHMultimedia lol.
@UserA from what I read on XDA, the only way to get rid of Knox is by flashing a custom rom. It's a bit complicated, wouldn't recommend doing it if you're not familiar with recovery and rooting. Unfortunately there's no other way.

Hello @UserA, I can not endorse anything that disables Knox.

Indeed, removing or altering Knox would be a very bad idea. I don't see why you would. This will expose all your data, void your warranty and you won't be able to get official updates (still flash them but no OTAL
