Hi,

I recently got this used s21 and my battery usage has been pretty high in standy considering that I don't use the phone that often. My screen on time is 1.15 h while my screen off time is 1d 18h and half my battery is gone. Is this normal or should I consider replacing the battery? The charts seems normal but the numbers don't add up.

I also attached a screenshot of my battery usage.

Open the Samsung Members app & Click on Support & run the Diagnostics for the Battery.

It does seem like the battery's health may be poor though.

You could always restrict, or check to make sure that the battery usage for WhatsApp, Subway & the Gallery, as they seem to be running the most in the background are optimized.

I can't optimize Google play services but subway, Gallery and whatsapp were already restricted from before even though I never restricted them so I changed them to optimized to see if that helps.

Yeah, you can't restrict system apps like Play Services.

"Optimized" actually should not improve the app's battery usage, compared to "Restricted".

What is the battery usage like if you are using the phone all day?

The S21 has the smallest of the S21 series, but I'm thinking that you should get at least 4 hours of Screen on Time with it.

You could try a couple of other things:

  • Boot into Recovery & Wipe Cache.

See if that helps.

Since you mentioned that this device is new to you, I don't really think that a Factory Reset would help, but you could always try?

I haven't really used the phone all day yet since I have been mainly transferring data over. But at this rate I don't think it will last that long. I had an A71 before and the battery on that is still going great even after 3 years of usage, very minimal standby and that battery lasts about a day with my normal usage . I did recently just set everything up but I could wipe the cache.
