Galaxy SSometimes my s21 Ultra's screen is unresponsive and I need to tap twice or even three times before it works. It mostly occurs when going back to the home screen from an app. Once at the home screen, when I swipe up to open app drawer or swipe to either side, nothing happens. I have to wait a second and tap again to get a response.
I have tried everything even down to a factory reset which seemed to fix the issue though only temporarily. It came back after a few hours. I only have a small handful of apps installed (Instagram, BBC, etc) and am using the stock launcher. I've looked though display settings, played with battery settings, refresh rate etc and I can't seem to find a fix.
Does anyone else have this issue or know what to do?

Galaxy SHi Bishop_the_android, I suggest you please make sure you are using a Samsung-approved screen protector which is always recommended. Please note that Unapproved screen protectors may cause the touch screen to malfunction.

Galaxy SI am using a Zagg screen protector which I believe is approved for the phone. I bought it directly through my carrier the same day I bought the phone.

Galaxy SCan confirm Android OS is updated to the most recent version, apps too.
I don't recall this happening when I first bought the phone a few weeks back but since then I have received two system updates.

Galaxy SUpdates do both good and bad. I wouldn't be surprised because my phone is always updated.

Galaxy S
Personally, I'd get rid of the Zagg screen protector!
If you want a screen protector that doesn't interfere with touch sensitivity, get a Whitestone Dome tempered glass screen protector, but before you think about that, remove the Zagg screen protector & test the screen's responsiveness, just to make sure that it's not a hardware issue.
You can also use the interactive tests on the samsung members app. Click on Get Help > interactive test & Touch Screen and check the results.

Galaxy SJust did this and it came back normal. I would hateee to take the screen protector off because I don't have good luck with phones, had to replace my s10+ twice lol. That said, I might just take it off for a day and see how it goes.

Galaxy SWhitestone is a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth every penny, especially on high priced phones!
Because it uses full coverage adhesive there's zero loss in sensitivity as far as I can tell & it feels like glass, because it IS glass.

Galaxy S- I'm pretty sure it costs more to get the screen fixed
- not to mention the time it takes out of your day to get er done
+ than it does to buy whitestone as mentioned by @RedDogRabbit 🤙👍
