Sometimes my s21 Ultra's screen is unresponsive and I need to tap twice or even three times before it works. It mostly occurs when going back to the home screen from an app. Once at the home screen, when I swipe up to open app drawer or swipe to either side, nothing happens. I have to wait a second and tap again to get a response.

I have tried everything even down to a factory reset which seemed to fix the issue though only temporarily. It came back after a few hours. I only have a small handful of apps installed (Instagram, BBC, etc) and am using the stock launcher. I've looked though display settings, played with battery settings, refresh rate etc and I can't seem to find a fix.

Does anyone else have this issue or know what to do?

Did you tried to increase the touch sensitivity?

Yes sir. Done everything I can possibly think of and find. Even now I had to touch the screen twice to make the keyboard pop up so I could type a reply.

you seem do have done pretty much everything except take off the screen protector as RDRabbit suggested and rule it out. I can assure you i don't have any touch issues at all with my S21 Ultra with the pre-installed screen protector. In fact, it has to be the most touch responsive phone I've had so far.

Took off the Zagg and can confirm I am still experiencing the same issues. When going back to the home screen from anything else, it takes more than one swipe for the phone to respond. Really **bleep**! My wife has an s21 and doesn't have the same issues.

I'm hoping it's software and not a hardware issue.

Samsung, any ideas?

i would test the phone for a few hrs in safe mode since you tried everything else. I could be wrong but if it still happens in safe mode, i would think its more hardware related otherwise it would be more software/app related.

Did you install an app right before it started doing this ?
Galaxy S

Tested it in safe mode yest before I decided to do a factory reset and experienced the same issues.

I can't remember if there was a specific app I installed before it started happening. I only have a small handful of them on the phone (Facebook, Headspace, Instagram, Bank of America, etc). I'm not a very app intensive user.

Also, could just be Gboard but I have noticed it doesn't register touches sometimes.

I came from the s10+ plus, which had the same apps, and never had these issues.

I've uninstalled Gboard and can still replicate the issue. My problem is very similar to the video you posted, albeit it doesn't last as long as his does.

Hi, As you have tried everything and you are still experiencing the issue, I suggest you please backup your data and perform a factory reset on your device. Please try this and check if the issue got resolved.
