Sometimes my s21 Ultra's screen is unresponsive and I need to tap twice or even three times before it works. It mostly occurs when going back to the home screen from an app. Once at the home screen, when I swipe up to open app drawer or swipe to either side, nothing happens. I have to wait a second and tap again to get a response.

I have tried everything even down to a factory reset which seemed to fix the issue though only temporarily. It came back after a few hours. I only have a small handful of apps installed (Instagram, BBC, etc) and am using the stock launcher. I've looked though display settings, played with battery settings, refresh rate etc and I can't seem to find a fix.

Does anyone else have this issue or know what to do?

I did a factory reset yesterday. It fixed the problem but only temporarily.

Hi, Could you please confirm that you are facing the issue after performing the reset?

Yes he has factory reset & tried safe mode, but issue persists.

He's also removed the Zagg screen protector.

Trouble shooting could be a long process. After every thing you've tried, i would perform a reset all settings and test. I would change refresh rate/ screen resolution and test, remove swipe gestures and use app button and test. Remove ALL 3rd party apps (since you don't have many) perform a cache partition wipe in recovery and test . Back up and factory reset and test without restoring anything first. Then i would probably give up 🤷

What happens when you disable Unlock function and restart the device 🤔

All my research are saying that this happens when unlocking the device... but nobody try to disable the unlock 🔑
If it doesn't work, I give up

Never has happened unlocking the device, only when going back to the home screen from an app. The home screen is unresponsive.

I'll contact Samsung and see what they can do, maybe a fix is in the works or they can replace it under warranty.

This probably won't fix the issue, but see if clearing cache & data for One UI Home does anything?

This will likely reset your settings for it to default.

So to summarize...

-You've taken off all screen protectors

-you've turned on screen sensitivity setting

-you've wiped the cache partition

-you've factory reset

-you haven't installed any "odd" apps since factory reset

-you've done the interactive check on this Samsung Members app

And it's still not working?

I'm gonna assume...
if you did all that was mentioned then it's a hardware issue 🤷

Thank you
