Is anybody having issues with wifi all of a sudden not working and then drops to LTE/5G and you have to manually go to wifi settings to reconnect again? All my other devices stay connected and wifi works so this isn't an issue with my internet. It happens about every hour it's getting really frustrating. I reset network settings, forget network and rejoined, disabled intelligent wifi options, and I wiped cache partition and the issue still persists.

I haven't had wifi issues on this phone with the December security patch, this all started happening with February update.

Samsung members diagnostics says my wifi is normal and nothing unusual.

Try power cycle your router. Although other devices have no problem. But by doing it won't hurt.

I enabled the second 5G band back on my router and rebooted it and will see if that fixes it. I'll reply again if the issue still happens

So it seems to be a handoff bug with the s25u which was reported somewhere but forgot where I saw it, its software related.

After enabling the second 5Ghz band on my router my phone always switches between the two 5Ghz bands without disconnecting, no issues at all. But when I disable the second 5Ghz band, the phone is forced to use either 2.4ghz or 5ghz. If the only enabled 5ghz band can't reach it normally should do a handover to 2.4ghz but that's the part where the bug starts and it disconnects instead of being handed off, my iPhone does this very well but the galaxy on one ui 7 doesn't.

I still not certain it's a OneUI bug entirely just yet.

You still haven't updated us if 5his occurs elsewhere - especially with the same dual 5Ghz setup as you have at home.

Why nit change the name of the gaming 5Ghz SSID (Wi-Fi network name)? Nit sure what the point is of keeping it the same name as other devices not needing to game/have that level of low latency.

Aha! Is the low latency the reason the phone will NOT disconnect fast enough?

There is a setting in curious without ANY further device changes or router changes if disabling that may resolve?

Sorry still catching up to the other updated replies in this thread.

Very interesting conversation and issue that's peaked my brain to be honest - sry that its at your expense. 1743118009350.jpg

I figured out the issue, it has nothing to do with 2.4/5ghz at all. One UI has a bug with fast roaming as I found it in the wifi logs inside the labs. This was happening when my router was using WPA2/WPA3 hybrid mode and it seems the Samsung has an issue catching up when the security settings switch automatically causing a disconnect, however iPhones and iPads and smart TVs etc stay connected just fine with the hybrid WPA2/3 settings.

What fixed this completely is disabling WPA3 and I now use WPA2 only and my s25u hasn't had problems since, sounds like Samsung needs to fix the handoff bug with WPA2/wpa3

It seems it's exclusive when you have two wpas at the same time, I would suggest WPA1/WPA2 would do the same thing

Nice work.

Curious though why any device would need to switch networks in the home but alas problem solved and an update is needed.

It's probably the router trying to figure out which device supports WPA3 and if it does, it uses it, if not it falls back to WPA2. This is usually executed perfectly but not for the Samsung running on One UI 7 yet.

Zero issues with WPA3 on my S25 Ultra.

Don't think that I'm special.. just no problems.

That's because you are using WPA3 only.

It's an issue if you use a hybrid of WPA2/WPA3

only reason I didn't select WPA3-personal is our Apple devices don't like it for some reason. Maybe need to reconnect.
