I've seen in the manual ,that the max size of micro sd card is 400 go...but i've also read on reddit that a 512go will also work....it was "only " writed max size of 400 go because it was the bigger card size at the moment of the exit of s9 in store....is that truth? Can i put a 512go on my canadian s9? 400go card a harder than 512go card to find.. and i want to upgrade my 128 gb card....i've got a "big deal" on a 512go at bestbuy

Yes, 512GB will work because 400GB SD Card was the max size at that time. But 512GB card will work on S9.

Let's see if there are S9 users using 512GB in here.

If you have a big deal , go get it BUT i suggest you to read this article to be sure you select the right card for you... if you make 4K video, you need a card that support it...

Which card do you want to buy at Bestbuy ?

Those values are just tested values. Properly compliant hardware will support up to 2TB SD Cards. As Tallman said, that was the max commercially available size back then, but as previously stated, you should support up to 2TB without any problem (SDXC standard)

That Evo+ card is very good. Samsung is no newbie at producing NAND. 120$ is a very fair price for 512GB.

That Lexar card is more expensive because it's UHS-II. Your phone is only UHS-I compliant, which means you won't benefit from the extra speeds. So there's no advantage to go with it. Both are high quality cards, and I believe Samsung offers a very long warranty on it (10 years?).
Both cards are overkill for the use cases you've given. So buy any of them with confidence.
