Samsung Wallet set up issue- pin

Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. Fresh hard rest done. Now I can't set up Samsung Wallet.

During the set up it asks to add a PIN. When I tap any number all 4 dots fill immediately and a warning saying that you can't use the same number more then 3 times in a row. No issues setting up any other pins. 

I have. Learned caches, reinstalled, rebooted, cleared biometrics, and different combinations of those. 

Any other suggestions?

That's sad to hear this issue from you and appreciate your efforts in performing all the necessary troubleshooting steps. As you have already tried clearing the cache and data for the Samsung Wallet app.  Settings > Apps > Samsung Wallet > Storage, then tap on "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data." Afterward, try setting up the verification method again.  

Please make sure that Samsung Wallet has all the necessary permissions enabled. Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Wallet > Permissions, and ensure that permissions like "Storage," "Phone," and "Contacts" are granted.

Your standard "have you tried rebooting?" response is insulting to anyone having this issue. I have been having this issue for years - Gave up and now trying again with a new phone, new Galaxy 7 watch and yes it is enough to p1ss 0ff the p0pe!

Your developers MUST have an answer for this as I am seeing it be an issue for many people and for many years.

Please respond .. even if it is bad news (I already am thinking this is a losing battle, look at the reviews!)

All that has been done in the past and just tried again with the same results.

When I get to adding a PIN, any number I tap automatically does all 4 as that number and get that error.

Just a note to keep this quest for answers alive. I have been fighting this for many years - now with a new phone, starting all over again.
