After the last Android update, screen  rotation control is missing. Any suggestions to get it back would be appreciated. Thx. Samsung Galaxy S8.

Did you check the QS Tiles?
It's remotely possible that you might have to edit the QS Tiles if for some reason it's been removed - Click on the Three Dot Menu Top Right - Button Order if it's not there 🐧

Or you can go to

Settings → Display → Home Screen
Enable " Rotate to landscape mode"

"Rotate to landscape mode" isn't there anymore since the last update.

It seems that screen rotate has been migrated to the individual app now. I found that in one app I use extensively, the rotate icon now appears contextually when the phone is rotated to horizontal from vertical.

Regardless of what app - You should still have the Rotation QS Tile.

If the rotate is not selected within 2 seconds, that icon disappears

Then if rotated on from whichever axis it's on, it appears briefly again. Gotta test that out with more apps. Android 9
