since oreo update

I've updated to oreo but now there is no option to give individual contacts a separate notification sound for text messages. you can only do ringtones. WTH!

Yeah it's been mentioned often... Really often. You can use Android Messaging if you want individual notifications or whatever app you want other than the Samsung app.

Holy crap there is way more people p!ssed off about this than I ever thought would be. I think Sammy better get this change reversed and quick.

It's not Samsung's fault though. It's Oreo 8.0 and how it handles the notifications now. Google messed this part up for these users.

I really recommend Textra vs the stock app. you can do so much to make it your own and you don't have to open the app to answer text message
