slow battery charging

1.5 year old s7 edge...
battery has been charging almost 7 hours now but still 88% full without using while charging.

If you're using the OEM USB cable & charging block & It's still not charging beyond 88% I'd try a couple of things - Reboot to Recovery & Wipe Cache - Reboot and see if it charges up to 100% - If not - You could Boot into Safe Mode & See if it charges to 100% - If not - Run the Diagnostic test available here on the Samsung Members app - Depending on the result - It might be time to go a Samsung Service Center 🐧

sounds to me like the battery is failing

Yeah that's what I'm thinking... but it seems kinda soon for the battery to be failing.. The original battery in my Note 2 & 3 still take a full charge I think even my skyrocket does....

First I would check that its not a problem with your charging cable, maybe try using another cable if you have one handy. If this does not work please contact your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/servicelocation/) for support.
