About 4 days ago, I received my brand new Galaxy S25 Ultra. Everything has been wonderful, except for the camera performance. I have an S24 Ultra that I've been doing camera comparisons with, and in almost every scenario, my S24 Ultra wins by a long shot. It's almost like I can't take a single good picture with my S25 Ultra.

The areas that look the worst are low-light photos. In low light, the S25 Ultra overprocesses pictures like crazy, which often results in a "smeared" look, with crazy artifacts everywhere. Low light photos consistently look like oil paintings with how aggressive the processing is. There were a few shots I took in very low light in my backyard that had some awful artifacting in the sky. The images have strange patterns, and only cover the very top of the pictures.

Most shots in normal lighting are extremely grainy, dark, and often times blurry and less detailed than my S24 Ultra. This is massively disappointing for a phone worth the price of a good gaming computer.

I'm genuinely concerned as to whether or not this issue is software related, or it's a hardware problem, specific to my unit. If there's anyone who can help me here, please, feel free to let me know. I'll provide some pictures to give examples.

Same here. I don't have an Ultra 25, but a S25+. The camera is worse than that of S23+. Already disabled scene optimization and set optimation intelligence to minimum. The color tone of photos turns out to be off, either to yellowish or blue-ish, just not right. When I looked the the photos and videos taken in Gallery, always started with a darker screen and turned brighter. Really annoying. I must say S23+ was way better, even photos & videos taken in low-light environment. The S25 series seems to be a downgrade!!!

P.S. I have been using Samsung S series for the longest time. This is by far the biggest disappointment!!!

Yes! I decided to go back to Samsung from iPhone because my husbands 24 ultra has amazing low light captures with photos and videos. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with my video quality (front and back camera) in my office setting. I have professional lights set up but for the “best camera on the market “ it really looks AWFUL. If I cannot figure it out this weekend I will have to return for the new iPhone which again is very disappointing. My content looks like something from 1985

Me too, all my photos are blurry and just look like a phone from 5 -7 years ago. I can't get any good photos of my toddler or anything else unless I take a photo of something stationary and I don't move or breath and take a long time.

The photos this thing takes at concerts are the absolute worst of any Samsung phone I've ever had and I go all the way back to the Note 3. The low light performance is shockingly bad and I have the latest update. I've been strictly Samsung Note and sUltra for a decade and after this I will never buy another Samsung phone. I'm going to the Pixel or the OnePlus after this.

I have exactly the same problem. My S20 Plus takes better quality images than the S25 Ultra I have now and I am a very, very unhappy customer.  For this amount of money, the camera and the settings it comes with should be supreme quality. Instead, even with all the recommended settings to counteract the bad quality, I have overprocessed and overexposed images all . the . time. I am absolutely horrified that I have used my hard-earned savings to invest into this device. It has convinced me to go to IPhone next.
