Don't know if Samsung has any choice, other than to follow Google's lead, not only with the questionable decisions, ie: Charging Blacks, 3.5 mm headphone jacks, but also with the consumer friendly decisions... for "environmental reasons™"

They should follow Google but the rest they've followed Apple with the greed , earphone jack , no charger and I loved swapping batteries

Yeah I get the removable battery, but I think that I prefer the ip68 rating.. I don't see how that would be possible with removable batteries?

I do really believe that as long as the device has a physical SIM, there should be a micro sd card.. I mean if eSIM brought an ip rating that was "to the bottom of the Marina Trench and back.. I could see that as justified.

Yup the SD was another money grab with clouds but I would still use a removable back to swap batteries, SD card and sim

I have a basic handheld GPS with removable batteries and it is IPX7 rated. Pretty easy to make a removable back cover with a gasket/seal.

Or at least make the replacement of a $20 battery not cost an arm and a leg and take who knows how long to get done.

If it matters:

While IPx7 enclosures are specifically rated for a submersion duration of 30 minutes, IP68 enclosures can be rated for any length of submersion greater than that. Submersion time is thus also a factor to look for when evaluating the specific performance of an IP68 enclosure.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover pro has a removable battery and is IP68 rated, so it's not like Samsung can't do both...

Google has been upgrading Android. Technically, samsung must follow Google Lead. And I would like samsung to completely implement IP68 (or latest standard). It'd be better to provide a feature of Blood Sugar on new models phones and watches.
