Ok so my son and I both upgraded our phones to Samsung S20 and S20 ultra. Everything was working fine for the first month, then a few weeks ago I went to send a text message and it failed.  My son was the same. I kept trying sometimes it went through if I restarted my phone or if I replied to a text once received but for the most part it wouldn't go it failed. I have trouble shooter for hours with provider had my sim card changed and trouble shooted with Samsung which led us to taking the phones into a Samsung repair. They said that they had another person with the same issue and had to replace the motherboard.  So fine we figured that was the solution.  But low and behold got them home and worked once and not working again. Not a network issue as our old phones still work with no issue I am getting so upset with this issue.  Hoping someone might half the answer to our problems.

Hi meeeow, I suggest you try with another carrier if possible and check if you have the same issue. Are there any other issues apart from this? Did the device was examined by the Samsung authorized technician? I suggest you get your device examined, please reach out to live chat support and they help you book an appointment with an authorized technician.

Thanks for the suggestion but trying with another provider that is not an option as I am on a contract. I will reach out later to see what can be done. I have to go back to that tech anyway as there is an issue with mark on my screen that wasn't there before they worked on the motherboard cannot tell if it is inside or outside on the manufacture screen protector.

Get a SIM from a friend who's with a different carrier and put it into your phone. Then try to send a text message. Doesn't cost anything.

What messaging app are you using? Samsung's or Google's?

RobertZ we have tried samsung and Google neither work. I will see if I can find someone who i can try. I am on my other phone atm so will have to try later.

I will definitely as I find it really strange how things worked perfectly fine for the first month and then all of a sudden this started to happen and jot just my phone but my son's as well and when we switch back to our other phones there is absolutely no issues?! really starting to think that the upgrade wasn't worth it 😔

I'm just wondering is it just text messages that are a problem? do you find that calls don't connect or go through? also how long have you had the device while working with out issue before the issues happened?.... I'm asking because I'm wondering if a software update have have caused your issues, also it could help to take a note of your network signal strength when your issue is happening. it can help us help you. a software issue could possibly be fixed in another update. also if need be a work around in the mean time can be to use wattsapp or FB messager for your texts and calls.

Hello Tbone. Yes for me it is just the texting so far and we have troubleshooted with signal strength was wdoing that with my provider for over 3hrs and called Samsung and troubleshooted with them for over an hour when they couldn't do anything more that is when they sent me to the mobile Klinik was asked to change to Google messenger and still won't work, nothing had changed before this happened had not changed settings or anything. I got the phones Sept 18 and this issue started Oct 15 and to my knowledge there were no updates that were done around that time. My son has some issues with calls going through or receiving.I had my provider call me but I never got the call I didn't know until I saw there was a voice message.
