Unlock the bootloader

Why doesn't Samsung allow the owner of the phone to unlock the bootloader? After all, the device belongs to them.

Exynos variant does not have a Locked Bootloader. 

As to why, I suspect that it started with AT&T in the US. Carriers didn't want to deal with people who messed up their devices, trying to Root them, or once Rooted broke them. 

In the EU, the Consumer Protection laws also prevent Samsung (and other OEMs), from denying warranty just because of Root. 

Personally I think that once a Manufacturer no longer provides OS Updates, they should allow the Bootloader to be Unlocked!

Imagine if Microsoft denied people from having Admin Rights on their computers?? 

Denying "Superuser" access is the Android equivalent.

The bootloader of tablets, on the other hand, is unlockable.

I just came here to connect, I hope Galaxy ultra 24 or the #1 US (bought from Samsung) bootloader is allowed to be unlocked.

 This is the reason I avoid the galaxy lineup and I can't see buying the world model with missing bands for the carrier I use(T-Mobile). Thank you sincerely. 🙂👍

Samsung's North American Snapdragon devices, do not have an Unlockable Bootloader, and that includes the S24 series.

HOWEVER. i found a way, without paying, just took a lil tweaking with open source tools, im not gonna let a "no OEM Unlocking" message get in my way 😤

Would you be willing to share what you did to overcome this hurdle?  I am just hoping to hang on to my Galaxy S20 a little bit longer and install a custom ROM to prolong the life.  Thanks for any help or insight!
