I am just getting set up with a galaxy S8

I don't have a working SIM yet, but am online on WIFI and using all my other other apps.

I have taken some video and would like to transfer it by USB to my computer.

When I plug in the cables, swipe down in my notifications and tap on:

Android System >> USB Charging >> Tap for other USB options...

All of the USB options are grayed out - I cannot select them, and they are stuck on  "Charging phone only"

Can you advise how to access these options? Does it need SIM? It seems like something that would be separate. I can't verify my usual backups (onedrive/dropbox) until I have my SIM for verification codes, but I think I should be able to use cable...

Many thanks

Hi @salpilk,

Please try to Reboot the phone and try again and use Original Samsung cable.

Are Samsung's USB Drivers installed on your computer?

Be sure to Allow the connection between your phone & computer when Prompted.

Of course! thank you. I should have thought of that - Drivers have fixed it.
