We need official input on this!

We really need some official information about this.

This, this is the FOTA page of the US S9 unlocked, a model that will get the Pie beta officially. The FOTA page is a way to see what firmware are available on Samsung servers for OTA updates.

This version here is another Android Pie beta.

And now there's this:

Now this is the FOTA page of the Canadian S9 unlocked. Note that this Firmware has the same 4 last characters (CRJB). This is the same Pie beta firmware, except that it's made for Canadian models (G960W).

@Steve01 already told us there would be no beta programme in Canada (unfortunately). But then why are those build made?

All what us Members can do is speculate. But this is why I am asking for official information from Samsung about this.

They still are testing a beta for Canadian devices, they have to make sure how well it works on our models and networks ect. It's just not q open beta, it most likely is closed and only for Samsung employees and carriers and their testers

They never did this for the S8, S7 or S6. There's no apparent reason why they would make a beta like this just to make sure the beta works on our devices if we aren't going to get the beta at all.

Either way, I'm sure Samsung isnt going to comment, they don't have to and most manufacturers don't give out info on software and such that they haven't actually confirmed or released. They already stated that Canada is not going to get the Pie beta, and I'm confident that if they could they would.

I had a device that I did soak tests for the company and carrier. Brick, boot loop, brick, lag, glitch, glitch, lag, boot loop...ya I'll wait lol

I'm just trying to get information about something we are all eager to get. This isn't a leak. I know we are not getting the beta but then why are those builds being made? If you find this question useless then just ignore it. I know it's not an useless question And by the comments here, you are all missing the point of the question

What does that even mean? Samsung is obviously developing their Android Pie software on their numerous SKUs. What, you think the only development that should be currently happening is the official beta builds for the select few regions? So they develop the US builds and once the Beta period is deemed completed then they suddenly initiate other region build development from scratch? No. That would be far far too inefficient. That's not how software development works. They develop it for the entire range of S9 across the globe but only select a few regions amongst them where they will release certain Beta builds to the end customer to test and provide feedback that is then to be implemented to the broader range before it's all official and released publicly.
