Galaxy S
Hey everyone! The Oreo update is a hot topic, and a lot of us are wondering What, When and What and When and What. What phone, that is. The S8 Oreo ETA is this month, with stable version up for Beta users with Exynos models. But surely you are wondering if your phone is getting it. I will get a post with a detailed list when the official stable will be released to non-beta users. In the meantime, we had multiple reports of S6 getting Oreo, and multiple sceptical about them. It is true that tech support persons are sometimes misinformed (remember the S7 beta, when they said it will get 7.1.1?). But now, T-Mobile has confirmed the Oreo goodie for the S6x, S6+ and Note 5. That's right, the 3 years old "Project Zero" phone and its diffrent iterations are getting Oreo, despite everyone thinking it has the usual 2 Android versions policy. That is very unprecedented and deserves multiple congratulations to them. Hooray!
This also means that old S6-Gen devices will get Oreo. The Tab E LTE (T377T) will also get Oreo as per the Magenta carrier. Similar speced Tab A 2015, with the same SoC and same year of lauch, along with the same 2 updates already passed could thus get updated to Oreo. It would also be fair to expect the same to happen to the flagship Tab S2 and Tab S2 Refresh.
T-Mo says the update is ready for the S6x (Complete) and the S7x. It is only a matter of time until it gets released.
UPDATE: T-Mo confirmed J3 Prime Oreo too. The J3 2016 is unconfirmed, but honestly there is a strong chance that it gets it too.

T-Mobile has never reported a fake update yet, so this is fairly accurate information.

It would be nice if they'd update the Galaxy Tab S to Nougat...
