I downloaded the official samsung app for the Olympics awhile ago and have opened it many times without any issue. Infact the last time I opened it was yesterday. However today when i try to open the app it immediately closes and then i get a notice saying this app isn't available on rooted devices. My device has never been rooted. Infact I've never rooted any of my devices. Furthermore when i go into my settings menu it says my device status is official. I'm confused what could have happened between yesterday and today after work. Could someone have installed something on my phone? I should add that last week after i left work my phone was mysteriously factory reset.2352ea75-997e-43f2-9d10-4de349de3dc4.jpg

try apps such as root checker to find out if the device is rooted or not. and factory reset doesn't seems normal if i were you I would factory reset it myself again to avoid any issues.

Go to Settings, About Phone, Status. If at the bottom it says "Device Status: Modified" or anything that is not Official, then this is why

that's not true. I have Knox tripped and my Status says Official.

Mine also says it's official but I can't use sHealth and other apps like Samsung Pay. You probably download an app that tripped knox or something.

Yes, in that case the Knox bit has been tripped. It happens when you flash a custom firmware or if you unlocked your phone in a store, that is not a carrier's store or an authorized retailer like Bestbuy or an official repair shop.

I bought it at best buy and I'm with bell. As far as i know my phone is locked?

This is really weird I posted because i tried atleast 7 times today and had that problem. I just tried again and the app launched without any problem. Can the Knox be temporarily tripped??

It's pretty hard to accidentally Root any Device - And depending on what model & year - It's not something that can be done by pressing an incorrect key combination - You would actually have to go through a Specific Process in order to Root your phone 😉🐧

Doubtful - See if you can open Samsung Health (it won't open on a Stock Rooted Samsung) and you'll get a message to that effect.. more or less 🐧
