I used my phone with ease, less than 10 days.
What makes that system built upto 50 GB??!?
That sounds doubling windows 10!!
Any idea?

Thank you

That seems large as well, but still not acceptable to me. Like what if I'm using a phone with 128 GB, it seems I'm toasted. 😶

Depends on your storage size. His is 256GB so it uses 30, yours is 512GB so it uses almost 50. I have 128 so it uses 23GB..

Which phone do you have?

50 Gig sounds huge!

It could also be how Samsung's My Files app measures the size of the system data, but using My Files...

For comparison, my S20 Ultra's system data is ~ 20 Gig.

Is this something that you just noticed, or?

If I check the system data size using Mixplorer, it shows ~  5.42 Gig

You could always backup your phone with smart switch FIRST & factory reset. A factory reset will remove all 3rd party apps & all your accounts, so make sure that you know your passwords!

BEFORE you restore your phone with smart switch, check the size of your system data, because 50 Gig is really large.

I'm using S21 ultra. But I can definitely tell the system just boosted all the sudden. Like a day before, it was 30 GB. I'm just so tired to do all the resetting, is there any way to check what took up those space?

I don't know if you can see what's in system data with My Files, but you can get some idea using Mixplorer

You said that you "did all the resetting", do you mean that you Factory Reset your phone?

Yes, I've done that. The factory reset. The system will still stack up eventually tho. I don't have the Mixplorer, didn't see anything from "Mi file".
If so, any idea how to clear that up? I'm afraid it might build upto 100 GB later. 🤔

  • I have the S20 Ultra, but I can't imagine that the system size would be more than twice the size on the S21.
  • Have you installed a bunch of 3rd party apps from the Play Store or Galaxy Store?
  • After you Factory Reset, did you check the system data size, BEFORE you restored anything?

I was shocked too. I never used any third party app from other sources other than play store.
After resetting the phone, it was about 13 GB at the very beginning. It will go upto 20 GB with extremely light use. That doesn't sound good for Samsung, like longevity?
I googled with no solution, seems nobody even care about this.
I had other phones before, none of them are getting over 10 GB system.
Like OnePlus is less than 5
LG is less than 7
Xiaomi is less than 8
For this 50 GB, it becomes another univers. 😭
