Just a thought that I had today. I wish Samsung didn't remove it. I felt like it was more secure than the 2d face scanning that the following phones have.

Perhaps Samsung thought finger print is more accurate than iris scan. 🤔

Sure it's accurate, but it's hard to use if you're using tempered glass. I've had issues with it with my S10. Had to change mine to like the plastic one.

If I put a tempered glass screen protector on my Note 10 plus the fingerprint reader doesn't work at all, you're right it didn't work perfect but it did still work.

except it literally never works. when it was on the back of the phone (note8) it was super convenient. plus if i had gloves or water on my hand i could use the iris scanner which works even with the darkening prescriptin glasses i have. now it broke, the insurance cant fix it so i got a new phone (note20Ultra). the underscreen scanner literally never works. i just want to open the phone, change song in the playlist and close it again...i end up pressing the bloody scanner for 5 second, try, try, try...and end up drawing the patter, and this is right after retraining the bloody thing. my thousand euro phone is worse than a 5 year old model solely because of this.

To be honest, I prefer Iris scan more than finger print scan.

I could possibly guess your password but there is no way you could guess my fingerprint or my Iris, just sayin.

for a password/pin/pattern you need to turn the device on and possibly type it while others could see. you wont steal my eyeballs...
