My 2 months old fold 5. Samsung is asking me to pay 1010.00 CAD. No device damage, no liquid. Anyone experienced this, or DIY fixed it, 1010.00 is not fair.

My phone is extremely new. Never had any issues like this with my previous phones. I dont have care+, that's the problem. That's why they are charging me too much. No damage, never sit on it,never dropped it.

I called samsung customer service, they asked me to send it thru fedex, if they need to charge me they will email me the quote, when I decline the service, i need to pay 55 dollars as inspection fee. Im loosing hope, and really devastated.

Don't give up hope!! Enjoy and have lots of fun with your new phone 😀 😀. Do not under any circumstances send any money. If you have already paid off the phone, there is nothing to worry about. This definitely sounds like a scam as there are so many going around. I would just ignore this message for now, wait to see if an invoice comes in the mail and then take action. Samsung should not be charging you for a feature that you don't have and ignore the $55 inspection fee.

I suggest you to visit your local samsung service center. If there is no damage then they have to fix it under manufacturer warranty otherwise sue them.

@jayman1973 my answer is for the person who created this post not for you, and just for your clarification if you want to do the complaint online then companies charge fee in advance and in person service is different. I think you didn't understood what i wrote but have a great day.

Like the previous member said, I'd visit a local samsung store.

If the device shows no sign of physical or liquid damage, that's a defect and they need to repair it for free under warranty.

As a foldable user, I would strongly recommend getting the insurance next time. Foldables are solid devices by now but are still more fragile than your normal slab phone. It is always a good idea to get an insurance plan for them.
