Leaving apps open or close them everything?

This is my 3rd post on here today..sorry, but I have a question. Do most of you leave appapps open or close every app before you open a new one..like when you hit the close button and all the apps come up and you can swipe up and close them or is better to leave them open?

I generally leave the apps that I am using frequently open. Android will automatically close open apps if needed. 

At the beginning of Android, it might have slightly improved performance, but I think that if there is any difference now, it wouldn't be noticeable.

Yes, I normally keep frequently used apps open, and I also do power optimization manually a couple of times a day.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but how do you do a power optimization manually??

"Optimize Now".

I leave hundereds of tabs open in Google Chrome and I never slows the phone down at all. These devices are amazing.
I leave apps I use a lot open such as YouTube samsung members kijiji and Amazon to name a few.
