I just wanted to share an issue that I had with our Samsung stove and possibly connect with others whom have had the same experience. While the oven was on, we heard a loud pop and saw flames coming up from behind the control panel. Fortunately, the fire did not last long and there was no damage done, however, it could've been much worse. I did some research, and it appears that this is not an isolated issue with this model stove.

You can download an excel report here from this US website;

https://www.saferproducts.gov/PublicSearch

There are also multiple reports on the US Samsung forums;

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?advanced=false&allow_punctuation=f...

The stove was manufactured in April 2016. A recall has not been issued as far as I know.

I contacted Samsung and they have agreed to replace the control panel, however, I am concerned that they are replacing the panel with an equally defective and potentially dangerous part. When I contacted Samsung to get more information regarding the replacement parts, I was brushed off and told not to worry. All that I am asking for is some assurance that Samsung have recognized there is a problem with these control panels and that the replacement parts are safe to use.

This just happened to me, we were not even cooking, we were getting ready for bed and smelled an horrible burning smell only to get to kitchen and big thick black smoke coming out of the oven... imagine if we were already asleep.. this is completely outrageous that this is a known ongoing problem and this product is still on the market for unsuspecting customers to buy

We've been having heating problems for a few months, so I ordered a new temperature sensor. When I took off the back panel, I noticed scorch marks on a out 4 different places . I replaced the sensor, did t help heating up, but I'm really thinking the control board is the issue.

Going through research on it though, I came across alot of issues with this model, and now I'm very co corned about putting in a new control panel.

We bought the stove in 2016, and is other wise great shape. Considering g the issues with this model, should I contact Samsung regarding the issues?

I've had the exact same issue as above. Took off the back panel, noticed about 4 different t spots with scorch marks. Been having problems with stove heating.

I've replaced the cheaper parts, but wondering if I should now purchase the control board.

Has there been any support from Samsung on this, or any luck replacing control board?

I just experienced the same this week. I purchased the stove less than 2 years ago. The other day I ran downstairs in the morning to the smoke alarm going off, kitchen filling with black smoke. Fire extinguisher saved the day...adjacent cabinetry burned, 2 more minutes and my 1760s kitchen would have been on fire. Based on the number of comments here, I would wager  there's a lot more people out there who have suffered the same and not reported it.  The stove is burned beyond repair, and even if I could fix it, I would never trust it as far as I could throw it. Imagine if I had not been home? it just set itself alight, not in use, had not been touched since making dinner the night before.

Similar experience today, Oct. 8, 2022. While baking in oven, heard loud pop, saw flames from behind range, smelled burning odor. Blackening of wall behind range as well as back of range itself. Turned off power and flames stopped. Contacted Samsung Customer Service. Agent took information and started a claim. Escalated the claim to “specialty claims department. awaiting a call from “specialty claims.”

Just happened to us yesterday. October 9 2022. This is crazy. Guess they are waiting for a fatality before recalls.
