I just wanted to share an issue that I had with our Samsung stove and possibly connect with others whom have had the same experience. While the oven was on, we heard a loud pop and saw flames coming up from behind the control panel. Fortunately, the fire did not last long and there was no damage done, however, it could've been much worse. I did some research, and it appears that this is not an isolated issue with this model stove.

The stove was manufactured in April 2016. A recall has not been issued as far as I know.
I contacted Samsung and they have agreed to replace the control panel, however, I am concerned that they are replacing the panel with an equally defective and potentially dangerous part. When I contacted Samsung to get more information regarding the replacement parts, I was brushed off and told not to worry. All that I am asking for is some assurance that Samsung have recognized there is a problem with these control panels and that the replacement parts are safe to use.

Mine caught fire this evening. Connectors fused and I had to cut wires to remove control panel to ensure it was extinguished. I couldn’t imagine if I wasn’t able to pull it off the wall and unplug it before it got worse. Kids, pets, and wife were all inside. If this has happened to more than one of these ovens and nothing was done, shame on Samsung. I would never replace just a control panel even if it was redesigned. My connectors fused and wire insulation was damaged. Lives are at risk. There should have been a recall.
