I've been stumped about this for months now and I haven't found out anything. So the problem or situation I have is that one of my contacts (which I've blured most of their name) has showed up in my notification settings for samsung messages. When I go to the "notification categories" located in the bottom of samsung messages notification settings. (I included a screenshot) I see a bunch of notification categories and the thing I've been stumped about is how did one of my contacts end up there as a notification catagory? How can I add/remove other notification categories? Another thing that I'm confused about is when I click on that contact in the notification catagory settings I have the option to set it as a conversation or not? Can I do this for other contacts? How do I chnage my conversation settings? In my phones notification settings I don't have any conversations (unless I chmage that one contact to a conversation) how do I add more conversations? How does conversations work? Any help is appreciated!

In Samsung messages contacts names that you set a special sound or ringtone for will show up under notification categories so do you have this person set with a special sound that you recognize?

Just switch to Google Messages. It's a more refined app, is still being developed, and even Samsung's Moderators are recommending that people switch to Google Messages.

Download Google Messages from the Play Store and set it as your Default Messaging app.

My Favourite Contacts appear as individual Notification Conversations in Google Messages Notifications.
