I currently have a Note 20 Ultra and I end up using the Samsung Pay fairly often. Even when the Cashier says they don't have tap. They are always shocked and surprised. I was thinking about buying the upcoming S22 Ultra but I don't want to lose MST in Samsung Pay. Why on Earth would you remove one of the best features in your phones???

He meant next S series. Looking into purchasing device has MST on Samsung Pay. I'm doubt in North American region than India or Korean regions. They don't have highest NFC terminal. MST benefit to merchants without upgrades new terminal. Samsung haven't yet remove global MST. Some region will have it other will not due to market share.

I totally agree this makes no sense. There are major chains in my area that still don't except NFC payments.

Yes, if all the rumors are true the S22 Ultra will have an spen slot included in the phone and will have a 6.8" squared off screen like the Note 20 Ultra.

I feel your pain dude. 🙁 The option you can do. Buy an OV Valet. Will Graylin former co-founder of Samsung Pay (MST). You can send them a feedback and ask them bring to Canada. There is not much you can do.

MST is why I bought all the galaxy phones. LOL. Sure it is rarely used, but it sure is a life boat when a merchant tapes "tap not working" onto the terminal. or when Walmart decides to turn tap functionality off again.

instead of getting rid of it, they should open it up so any magstripe card can use it, not just Credit cards.

Agreed! Truly puzzling decision. I still use MST as the Mom & Pop stores don't seem to want to jump on the tap feature train for some reason or like you said it just doesn't work for a period of time. Samsung also did a terrible job of marketing how MST works and the benefits. The people I amaze when they continually tell me that they don't have tap only to see my purchase go through with tap 🤣.

I've just found this out because I am  a Note guy and never bothered with the S21 Ultra. It's beyond me why Samsung always going out of there ways to get rid of their unique advantage vs Apple. The only reason I kept buying Samsung phones was for MST pay. If that's gone, I am canceling my S22 Ultra pre-order right now before it ships. I am even more frustrated than when they got rid of the square Galaxy Gear S and started making round watches. Samsung is slowly signing it's own demise.

I agree with the disappointment of losing MST but I'm still really excited about receiving my S22 Ultra in Phantom Black 🖤. I also much prefer round watches and after the most recent update would highly consider the Samsung Watch 4 especially when they receive the Google Assistant feature which has been promised to be added shortly. As someone who's been sitting on the smartwatch sidelines waiting for the perfect blend of battery life tech, sports metrics, heart rate, blood oxygen and gps tracking I've finally ordered the new Garmin Epix 2. It's much more expensive than the Samsung watch so not a direct competitor but a watch I finally felt was at the level I was looking for.
