TabletsI think the S8 doesn't support Call and Message Continuity. You need a supported phone that runs on Pie or later. The option you've enabled is completely unrelated to text messages (CHM)
But to be sure, check the following because it's suppose to be in Android 9 and information say your device start with Android 7.0 (Nougat), upgradable to Android 9.0 (Pie) So, check If you have Call and Message Continuity , just enable it on both devices..
On your tablet it's called : Call & text on other devices.
Call and Message Continuity feature

TabletsBefore answering, i check on YouTube to see the How to enable Call and Message Continuity on Galaxy S8 and found nothing... but Samsung website wrote this : Call & Message Continuity is only available on Samsung devices running Android Pie or later
So, it seems they start this function only for S9 or later...this is why i ask you to check in the Settings..Did you check ?
