WearablesThis "open Bax" reason makes zero sense...for most things. I can see that with Earbuds, because who wants to be putting in used Earbuds, that might have been in some stranger's ears, into their ears.. hygiene explanation works for me.
But pretty much anything else, as has been mentioned, if you open a box to see if it's:
- the correct item.
- Is not damaged.
- Powers on.
In the case of a Mobile phone, Rogers (and I'm sure others), give you 2 weeks to see if you like the device... I can't believe that Samsung does not?
For what appears to be the case, you may as well just look at a picture of the device..

WearablesThat being said I've purchased used TWS earphones before - AirPods, AirPods Pro's twice and Sony XM2/3's twice.
For hygiene concerns I've simply asked which earbud tips were used and I've brought rubbing alcohol + tissue/microfiber cloth+Q-tips (to clean my ears before and after trying and inside the Silicon tips on the tws' as well before ans after. Never had an ear infection.
The Silicon ear tips are price neglectable as a production cost concern. If Apple chosen to provide free replacement Silicon tips for the AppleCare+ 2yr add-on extended warranty & yet replacing the tips for majority of customers even if theybdid NOT purchase it - surely Samsung COULD TOO!
There should be no reason Tws ear buds cannot or shouldn't be cleaned for sales returns to be recycled into new products like smartphones or watches (which come in direct contact eith human skin almost as much as or aa long as the ear buds do!!
Samsung needs to do better here! Kinda of appalling the don't!
By not doing better here is how you lose Customer satisfaction, confidence, and ultimately customers entirely! They then spread the word which has a ripple affect. Worse when the competition picks up on this and uses it as part of a marketing campaign against you by name!
Samaung has done this for years against Apple specifically, so either their marketing team has NO idea what the HW return team is doing with decisions like this or Marketing 101 in S. Korea is messed up and is one tracked minded unable to see such damaging holes like this.
@Samsung get it together!
