Any info on the Android 10 Update and OneUI for the Samsung A70? I've read online that it's been held off indefinitely due to certain models of the phone bricking once updated, due to different PCBs in the various versions of the A70. Mine is model SM-A705W (in Canada), and I'm still on the December 2019 security update as well, even though it's almost May, and my wife's A50 has received the March 2020 security update. To say that I'm unimpressed with this phone would be an understatement, coming from a Nokia that got updates and security patches almost instantly.

Samsung seems very lipped about this, as information is sparce at best, mainly coming from 3rd party sources. I purchased this phone knowing  that we would at least be getting the Android 10 update, now it's looking like that may not happen? I'm starting to think I should return it and go with an A71, or current Nokia as opposed to this model, which hasn't provided a single update since purchase.

Can anyone advise, or add any potential information regarding this issue? Anyone else with an A70 experiencing the same issue? Thanks everyone.

I'm in the same boat, waiting for Android 10 for my A70. I read April 2020 from Samsung somewhere here but I guess this was changed for May. Samsung takes forever getting updates rolled out.

Not to mention how ironic it is that the cheaper of the two, the A50 has monthly security updates, while the A70, the higher end of the two has quarterly rollouts... w.t.f..?

the a50 was the top seller for Samsung last year, so they prioritized updates to it.

like I said, the A50 sold way more than any Samsung phone last year, therefore it would only make sense on Samsung's end to make it monthly as updates get to more people than any other A series devices.

Not sure how reliable that source of information is, but the news is reporting something I read about issues for the A70 upgrade. That might be the reason why it takes linger to get the update.

That's pretty much exactly what I've been reading as well, yet Samsung hasn't mentioned a word about it. I'm going to see about having it swapped for the A71: who knows how long this could drag on for.

I'm considering returning it. I've had it for less than A month, and for $500 Canadian, it feels like a major kick to the nuts. Problem is there are very few phones in the mid-range category that aren't complete garbage. I considered the Nokia 7.2, but it just doesn't have the gusto. The industry is completely tainted, which is obvious because you basically have no choice but to buy a flagship phone if you want something that isn't a piece of crap. I've been considering returning it for an A71. I know the differences are negligible, but at least it has a slighty improved processor, a better camera and biometrics, as well as the February 2020 security update and Android 10, for a $100 bucks more. What are your thoughts?
