Any info on the Android 10 Update and OneUI for the Samsung A70? I've read online that it's been held off indefinitely due to certain models of the phone bricking once updated, due to different PCBs in the various versions of the A70. Mine is model SM-A705W (in Canada), and I'm still on the December 2019 security update as well, even though it's almost May, and my wife's A50 has received the March 2020 security update. To say that I'm unimpressed with this phone would be an understatement, coming from a Nokia that got updates and security patches almost instantly.

Samsung seems very lipped about this, as information is sparce at best, mainly coming from 3rd party sources. I purchased this phone knowing  that we would at least be getting the Android 10 update, now it's looking like that may not happen? I'm starting to think I should return it and go with an A71, or current Nokia as opposed to this model, which hasn't provided a single update since purchase.

Can anyone advise, or add any potential information regarding this issue? Anyone else with an A70 experiencing the same issue? Thanks everyone.

Yes, there will be an update for Samsung Galaxy A70 and the tentative release date of Android 10 for Samsung Galaxy A70 would be May 2020.

**bleep**! Now I know why I haven't had a Samsung phone since the Galaxy Nexus. Every other company supports their phones. This phone on Rogers cost $550! I expect better than this. My girlfriend has a Nokia 7.2 and has updated and NO CRAPWARE and costs less. Very similar specs. I'm really frustrated that I spent this kind of money on a phone which is not receiving updates. sickening.

Any references to back that up? Rollouts began in other countries around February, worldwide was supposed to be April at latest, and that still doesn't address being stuck on the December 2019 security patch.

The A70 and A71 are on a quarterly update schedule (every 3 months) and the A50 in on a monthly update schedule (every month). Sometimes there are delays (given the current circumstances don't be surprised if things get delayed) which can leave a device on an outdated security patch especially if the next patch is an OS upgrade.

Kinsley works for Samsung so that's where their information is coming from

Even with the A70 on a quarterly update there should have been something by now from December 2019

This phone is being treated like a second thought, there's been next to no information regarding the Android 10 update issue, and this again reminds me why I haven't had a Samsung phone in years. I should have known, and gone with a new Nokia for the same price: at least it didn't take them months to roll out an OS that's been available since last fall. Samsung seriously dropped the ball, and just goes to show they only care about those users dumping a grand or more into a so called 'flagship' phone. Kinsley, if you work for Samsung, why did you give a half baked response to the questions at hand, and did nothing to acknowledge what the holdup is regarding the OS or the security update, and if in fact it's a screw up on Samsung's side regarding different model PCBs in the various models of the A70. Again, there has been NO public acknowledgement as to what the holdup is, and I find it funny that a cheaper phone, the A50 receives monthly updates, whereas the A70 only quartly. My Nokia 6 which was less than $350 Canadian had regular monthly updates. This is just horrible customer service, again showing Samsung's 'we don't care' attitude. if Nokia you can do it, there's no excuse for Samsung dragging their feet.

I agree, bought mine in Sept 2019. Have since switched back to my Blackberry Key2 which received an update in March 2020
