Hi, I have a Note 10+ and yes, I'm on the latest software, so no need to tell me to make sure I'm on the latest software. Lol. I've also cleared my cache, and I have even reformatted. I've done everything. Lol. Now, here's the issue, the auto restart function does not work, and it's been like this since last September of 2020. I was hoping the update to Android 11 and One UI 3.0 would fix it, but it isn't fixed. Even though I've posted this issue before, I don't think Samsung or the moderators understand that it actually isn't working. One search on these forums, and you'll see this is still a problem with anyone that used the auto restart function. All my friends are also having this same issue, so it's not just a few people. This includes phones like S10 series, Note 10 series, S10 series, Note 20 series, and now S21 series. Restarting the phone helps with a lot of technical issues one may have, so being able to automate this restart function is really useful. Now before anyone says, the auto restart is working for them, just look at the uptime on your phone after you see the phone auto restart, and you'll see your phone didn't actually do a full restart. Manually restart your phone, and you'll see a message, "phone is restarting." Then you'll also see the uptime in your settings is reset. None of this happens when the phone restarts with auto restart function, but it used to, when it was working correctly. Right now, the auto restart is functioning more like a log off and log on type function, and that is not the same as a real restart. So the easiest way to fix this is, just add "restart" as a function available in Bixby Routines. Please and thank you.

Yes,100%. Can you do me a favor, set up your phone to auto restart, then once the phone looks like it restarted, can you check your uptime? I will guarantee the uptime won't be reset, which means you're phone didn't actually do a full restart. When you manually restart your phone, you then enter your PIN, then you get a message, "phone is restarting." If you have one hand operation+ installed, you'll then see the message, "one hand operation+ is starting." Once the restart is done, you check your uptime, you'll see the counter has reset. That's an actual true full restart, and that's how the auto restart used to work. It no longer does this.

Hi WallyWest,

I did a test on my Note20U. Auto restart also not working. Then I tried something different. I enabled flight mode. Then it worked. But it delayed 2 minutes on restart. See my screenshot.

***However, my uptime did not reset after reboot. Only if I shutdown my phone, and manually turn back on the uptime will reset.

Ok, that means your phone did not do a full restart. This is what I'm saying is happening to everyone. I don't need to go into airplane mode, my phone restarts, and it registers as a restart in the history, just like yours, but it isn't a real full restart. This has been like this since after an update in Sept or October in 2020. So many people think the auto restart is working, because they see the phone restart, and they have to enter their PIN, but I keep saying, it's not doing a proper full restart. It's more like the phone is logging you off and logging you back on. Not actually restarting. The auto restart used to be a proper full restart, where the uptime is reset, and you would see all the messages you see when you manually restart your phone.

I agree that the Auto restart does not work in normal mode. If it works in Airplane mode, that means something is interference the Auto restart to start. According to auto restart. It will begin when the phone not in use. Well, I guess something in the background and that's why not restart as set time. But turned all connection off and it does the restart. I think they need to fix this.
