Bixby Routines Not Working

Hi, Bixby Routines is no longer working for routines set up for when leaving a location. I have a routine set up for turning on WiFi and turning off Mobile Data whenever I come home. This works perfectly. I have a second Routine to do the opposite when I LEAVE my home. This routine does not work. It used to work, but stopped working about a month ago. At first I thought it was the GPS, but my maps and navigation work just fine. And my Bixby Routine for when I ARRIVE home works fine. So it can't be the GPS. Regardless, I calibrated the GPS just in case. I also cleared the cache, and cleared the data in Bixby Routines, and set up all the Routines again, and it didn't help. So, again, all my other Routines work, the ONLY one that doesn't work, is the one for when I'm LEAVING my home. When I ARRIVE home, that Routine works just fine. Any suggestions?

Please provide us the model number of your device which is available under phone settings.

Go to Settings>>About device/Phone>>Model number.

Hey WallyWest,

Thanks for providing your phone model number. I suggest you to perform the wipe cache partition of the device and get back to us with the results.

Here are the steps for wipe cache partition:

  1. Press and hold the Power key, tap Power off, and then tap OK.
  2. Press and hold the Power key and Up Volume key at the same time.
  3. Release the Power key when the Samsung logo appears.
  4. Release the Volume keys when the Android image appears.
  5. Press the Volume keys to highlight Wipe cache partition.
  6. Press the Power key to select.
  7. Once “Cache wipe complete” appears, press the Power key to select the Reboot system now.
  8. The device restarts once the wipe is finished.

I have wiped the cache position as you suggested, and it did not fix my issue. I even uninstalled the Bixby updates and tried again, and it did not help. I think my last resort is to do a factory reset.

Yes, I suggest you to perform the factory data reset of the device after back up the data on a computer using the Smart switch software. Make sure that you have removed the configured accounts from your phone before going to perform a factory reset otherwise it will be locked with one of the configured accounts.

You can find the factory data reset option under the General management of the device settings.

I once had a routine set up for my lunch break, it worked for a few months. but then an up date happened then it no longer worked. since then I no longer bother with Bixby routines.

Just an update. I've done the factory reset. I didn't install any apps, and I immediately set up my routine for when arriving home and another routine for when leaving home. And like before, the "leaving home" routine does not work. The routine for "arriving home" works just fine.

Please see my previous post you replied to. I Already did the factory reset on a July.25/20, and it didn't work. So the routine that involves LEAVING home does not work. The one that involves ARRIVING home, still works.
