Note 8 with Nougat had really awesome battery life. Found it hard to kill the battery in a day with my usage. Then Oreo came and my battery performance took a slight hit. Started using battery saving options to get closer to Nougat battery performance.

Now this new security maintenance update comes and my battery performance takes another hit. Also my battery graph is bugged up. Anyone else see this on their Note 8?

I used to average 20 hours with 6-7 hours SoT. I can't even come close to that now even with battery saver enabled. :(e7320448-510d-4b6a-a373-f84c588b697e.jpg

Hi,
I was getting on average 6hrs sot easily on Nougat and now barely able to to get 4 - 4.5 since Oreo. I resorted to a factory reset last week and it has improved but still not as good as with Nougat ( averaging 5hrs sot now )

Facebook seems to be more intrusive with these past updates. Even disabling the push notifications within the app, it still pushes certain things through which I don't like. I don't use FB much (only once in a blue moon).

I went into notifications settings and completely disabled FB notifications. So far I'm getting closer to what I was previously.

@Vic20 I definitely noticed a significant increase in battery life after a Factory Reset when the S8+ got the Oreo Update - Before I did a Factory Reset there was a decline in battery performance - If you haven't done a Factory Reset... it may help... If you do decide to remember to backup your phone with Smart Switch etc 🐧

Yep... after getting rid of the aggressive push notifications from Facebook my battery has been okay. Still need power saving enabled to get this though (something I didn't have to do in nougat).af8ba80a-e089-4f44-b4a6-896a1c66f105.jpg

When I installed oreo I did a very 'clean' lots of elbow grease install.

3x cache wipes... 3x factory wipes... install oreo and did another 3x cache wipes... 3x factory wipes. Cleanest state of Oreo I think can be done. LOL The battery definitely did take a hit after a fresh install of Oreo on my Note 8.

For minor updates... 3x cache wipes... install and another 3x cache wipes. Never had issues. But after this latest update, I seem to be experiencing a few issues. Lock screen being the other. PIN entering is unresponsive at first and takes a few seconds for it to become responsive.

I'm okay with factory resets... tend to do one every 6 to 12 months to refresh the device. Looks like I might try that anyways as my battery graph is missing the orange graph line.
