First time Samsung note user,

The note 10 plus seems to be eating up ram fast, I constantly have 6 to 7 GB of RAM usage in the background.

Given I'm only one week into using the phone, I'm worried that 2 - 3 years down the line the phone will start to lag.

How do you all manage the ram? And is my situation normal?

There's an expression in Android - "unused RAM is wasted RAM" - Android is quite efficient with RAM Management & There's nothing to be gained by having loads of unused RAM - In fact that would be a BAD thing & that's what WOULD actually slow down your device 🐧

ya as shaggyskunk1 said, I wouldn't worry about the number on ram usage, as long as the device performs well it doesn't matter how much ram it's using.

Hard to wrap ya head around but it's opposite of a computer 🤷♂️

A PC is different in that most applications are built larger and are more resource intensive... PC's can multitask much better than a mobile device.   It's more efficient for the battery of mobile dvices to store stuff in RAM than to constantly have to access it from the flash memory.
