Currently using note 9 with Roger's, Android 9 with December security patch.  Does anyone currently with Rogers or another Canadian carrier have rich chat services working? I have no options in native messaging app to turn on. As far as I can tell and read it has been supported for a while now.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

You're talking about privacy? this is Google, the same company who makes your entire OS. Your arguments are wack

So let's give them all your data then? Worst argument ever.

Feel free to give away 100% of your privacy to Oogle so they can resell it to whoever pays the most. I disabled telemetry in the OS and the packages that do it.

Not sure if you're joking, sarcastic or just naive but theres not enough blocking or avoidance you can do. You're using their OS and play services and a bunch of other Google embedded services running. Think about that for a minute.

Go off and run Tizen if you're that paranoid

I'm not paranoid. But you think there's either All or Nothing. I'd rather have 0.7 than 0.0. Your whole point is that I'm foolish to want the 1. Maybe. But I certainly don't want the 0 you suggest I should get. GMS is a big proprietary blob but that's not the only telemetry harvester. Think about that for a while. Or two. Take your time to realize how dumb it is to relinquish your privacy and be happy about it.

Go off and have the decency to sell your privacy yourself if you don't value it at all. At least get the money for yourself because letting someone else with the responsibility to sell your privacy is naive.

i disagree. I've tried Google messages. the Samsung messages app is just better. plus rcs works better with the default app (Samsung messages)

@CH, your arguments make literally no sense, go back to BlackBerry and live under a rock if you're that concerned, seriously

Lol, @jamesy, RCS works perfectly well on Google Messages, that's why it's the defacto application installed by default on all new Android phones but ooook. Like actually rock solid. And so do quick replies, but you wouldn't know on Samsung Messages.

Please explain what makes no sense in willing to have my privacy protected. Because you have failed to do so so far. And please explain why I should be happy to give away my privacy to a money-hungry company because you haven't given any reason for that either.

And please try to read my comments. I said I know I can't get the 1 but I will do everything I can to get closer to that. If that wasn't obvious, 1 means that my privacy is fully respected. I'm not lowering to your level (0) especially since you give no reason why it would be better. Come on. I'm giving reasons and you're not and you are starting to get into personal attacks. This is getting pathetic. If you can't argue without resorting to this, then you just can't argue at all.

My solution is 0? Dude you live in a fantasy world, there's no reasoning with you. I use GOOGLE's app, not Joe schmo's. Stick to your Samsung Messages, I could honestly care less. But until then, your word means nothing while you're still using the OS from the same provider you fear. There's a huge flaw in your way of thinking and there's no reasoning with that.

Now you suggest I'm an hypocrit. Tell me what alternatives I have to keep using my college app, my banking app, my comms apps... without using Google's OS. Apple? Lol I'm not getting into a golden cage. Plus Apple's privacy isn't as good as they keep saying. And you cannot do anything about it unlike on Android. Tizen? Uh... Samsung abandoned Tizen for phones. BlackBerry? You know that BBWorld is closing... And BB is using Android now anyway. Obscure OS? Bet you a billion dollars the apps I need aren't there.

Hence what I said. I can't get the 1 but I'll do everything I can to get closer to that. Like how we should keep fighting crimes and stuff even though we'll never fully eradicate crime.

The way you reject my arguments is like calling people who care about the environment hypocrites because their bus uses gasoline too. Yes it does, but much less than individual cars. It's not a perfect 1, but it's far from a 0 too.
