Hello. I've noticed that many of you set your phone to factory reset BEFORE latest software update?? I'm wondering if this is totally necessary?? I've now done this 3 times since purchase (Dec '19) and it's really hard for me to re-establish my phone (& with all personalizations, too). Can I just clear all my apps cache instead??

Also, is THIS my last supported update for my model (Note 10+)??

Extremely unlikely that there was any OS version update just now.

Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information and post a screen shot this.

You should have received the November Security Patch Update on November 23rd.

There's currently no Android version update scheduled for the Note 10 series until some time in January 2022.

Not sure what you were doing before your phone Booted into Download Mode?

I have more info IF you need...(the update notice was there when I woke up this am...) The teal blue screen happened after all was completed and restarted & tried to clear cache partition! After panic & struggling to cancel whatever ELSE it was trying to do it restarted! I'm STILL shaking! 😥WHAT happened?? As I said, the update you were notified about was the December Security Patch Update, which had been available since November 23rd. That's all good 👍

As for your device Booting into Download Mode, that's not supposed to happen, but if the system "thinks" unexpected happened, it might Boot into the teal screen, which is Download Mode. You should just be able to press on the Volume DOWN button to cancel & Reboot the device normally.

OMG, Thank you! However, it wouldn't 'cancel' nor when I kept pressing on the volume down button it wouldn't do it! I kept trying and FINALLY it powered off & re-started! I just HOPE it DIDN'T 'download' anything! (It was so SCARY 😬 and it's not like we can flip it over & pop the battery out, like the old days!!🤪) Thank you, RDR!
