Suddenly, the phone's clock started showing a time that was offset by two hours from my local time.

I deselected automatic time zone and auto date/time and set them manually. If I return it to automatic, the timezone and local time would be offset by two hours

I checked if this was a problem with the network provider. I found that my friend's S8 which is on the same network has no issues.

Has anyone experienced this?. How can I resolve this?.

curious...try turning on the location for a while. perhaps your phone thinks you're in a different time zone

go airplane mode
power down
remove SIM
power up no SIM
then pop SIM back
remove airplane mode

When I perform the above mentioned steps the phone will display the actual time for a second and then revert back to wrong time

failing that, ask Bixby to set the local time for you

I did select the timezone manually and turned auto update off.

only two possibilities

1. the network your on responsible for setting time has possible issues
2. your clock is not set for eastern daylight savings (choose New York)

If you have an old phone, pop the same SIM into it and check the time to rule out network fault.

Hey @Roshan, could you please try setting your device to "Automatic date and time" and soft-reboot your device?
Then, please try clearing cache on your device. Thanks!
