Brand new S25U turned out like a four year old phone in battery life after the April One UI 7 update. My S25 Ultra used to give one and a half day battery life easily with my usage but now after the update I am forced to charge it twice a day. Also phone seems to be getting warm which was not the case before this update. May be this is one reason for the bad battery life. My S21 Ultra a four year old phone which I traded for this S25 Ultra was way batter in battery life comparatively. I am seeing lot of complaints on battery life after the update and hope Samsung is looking into this on priority.
Is there any worked solution other than factory reset which I am not happy to try?

Yes..I have to charge my S24fe twice a day now. I use to only charge once a day. Battery drain happened after android 15 UI 7 update.

Have you tried factory reset? If not take a backup and try once. After factory reset my phone's battery life came back to normal. Now it is consistent.

Hi DurgaBali,

We understand how frustrating it can be when your battery life doesn’t meet expectations especially after a software update on your Galaxy S25 Ultra.

While a factory reset is sometimes effective, we know it’s not ideal. Before considering that, please try these steps:

Check for App Updates: Make sure all apps are updated via Galaxy Store and Google Play, as outdated apps can cause battery drain.

Review Battery Usage: Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Usage since last full charge to identify any apps using excessive power.

Disable or Limit Background Activity: For apps using high battery, restrict background activity or use Sleeping apps feature.

Turn Off Unused Features: Disable location services, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi scanning when not needed.

Clear Cache Partition: Boot into recovery mode and clear the cache partition — this can fix leftover system files from the update causing issues.

Use Device Care: Run Settings > Battery and device care > Optimize now to let the system optimize your device.

If battery drain and overheating continue despite these steps, a factory reset might be needed to clear any corrupted system data, but we recommend backing up your data first.

Lastly, we highly recommend sending feedback via Samsung Members > Support > Send feedback, so our team can prioritize a fix.

Thank you for your patience!

I finally factory reset my phone and it looks like fixed the battery drain issue. Now battery life is good compared to the depletion issue after April update.

Hi Helenna
All the above steps didn't work for me so I gave up and tried factory reset finally. It looks like worked for me. No battery drainage compared to how it was after the April Update. I will see how the battery life is for few days and update you.

Hi, like many others, I had this problem on my S25 ultra and I did a "wipe cache partition" and my battery came back as before. Thanks😉👍
